The East has yet to win a game this week in the NCCA East-West All-Star Games.
After the girls soccer all-star game ended in a 1-1 tie on Tuesday, the West defeated the East 3-2 in a back and forth boys game.
Adrian Gonzales (Fuquay-Varina) put the East boys on top first with a goal in the 9th minute, but Trey Hemphill (T.C. Roberson) answered right back for the West to tie the game at 1-1.
The two teams went into the half deadlocked at 1-1.
Early in the second half, the West took its first lead of the game when Jerry Zeller (Shelby) scored to go up 2-1. The East tied it back up later in the half when Logan McGlynn (Topsail) scored on a chip shot.
Hemphill was named the Most Valuable Player of the game though after he scored the go ahead goal with about 20 minutes left in the game. The West held off the East as they secured the win.
