For the second consecutive year, the girls soccer game at the N.C. Coaches Association East-West All-Star Games ended in a tie.
After the East took a 1-0 lead, the West tied it up at 1-1. The score stood at the end of 80 minutes.
In he 37th minute, Tristan Briggs (West Carteret) scored the first goal of the game for the East. They took the 1-0 lead into the half.
The West tied the game up in the 65th minute when Samantha Childress (East Forsyth) hit the tying goal. Childress was named the Most Valuable Player of the game.
Overtime and penalty kicks are not used to break a tie in the all-star game, meaning a tied game after 80 minutes results in a tie.
