Southeast Raleigh wide receiver Dante Jones, a member of the Class of 2013, is beginning to see an increase in interest from colleges.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pounds, Jones confirmed he recently picked up his first two offers from Duke and Appalachian State.

According to Rivals.com, Jones runs the 40-yard dash in 4.66 seconds.

As a junior, Jones posted 310 receiving yards with three touchdowns. He also ran for 135 yards and a touchdown, and  threw for 170 yards. As a defensive back, Jones recorded 42 tackles and three interceptions.

Last year, Southeast Raleigh compiled a 9-3 overall record, finishing second in the Greater Neuse River Conference behind state runner-up Garner.

Rivals.com reports Jones also has interest from Charlotte, Clemson, Connecticut, East Carolina, Kentucky, Maryland, Middle Tennessee State, NC State, North Carolina, Tulsa, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

Seems this young man has lots of choices to make. He would probably get more playing time at Duke than App State. Of course, Duke has a great name for education, but on the other hand App State ranks very high nationally for athletics graduation rate and probably has the best football program in our state. Tough Choice for him. Which ever he makes it will be the right decision. Both a GREAT schools put App State would give him more academic attention and certainly a better football program.

Someone's watching receivers at Duke. Otherwise, how would Connor Vernon have been selected as a pre-season All-American?

If football is more important ASU, if education is more important Duke. A degree from Duke is priceless, no matter who's watching.

take the money, and go to duke. It doesn't matter if only 100 people are watching you play.

Two great schools are interested. He must be smart, or Duke would not be interested in him. ASU is one of my schools which I have a degree. Kinda slanted a little. If he wants to get a high paying job after he graduates, then Duke is where he should attend. No question in my mind. Think about a career firstly.
