Panther Creek High School has hired its next girls soccer coach.
The school announced on Monday afternoon that David Grant, the current boys soccer coach at the school, has been selected to coach the girls team. He will take over the program after Leigh Haase stepped down after three seasons at Panther Creek.
Grant will continue to coach the boys team in addition to his new responsibilities with the girls team.
"As [Todd] Schuler (outgoing Panther Creek athletic director) and I went through the selection process, it became clear that Coach Grant is the right person to strengthen women's soccer at Panther Creek," new Panther Creek athletic director L.J. Hepp said. "He has tremendous passion for the sport."
Grant has coached soccer for 11 years. The girls soccer team at Panther Creek has made the state playoffs for five consecutive seasons.
"Coach Grant will take great pride and ownership in Panther Creek soccer and I look forward to working with him as he leads both programs," said Hepp.
