After 20 years at Durham's Riverside High School, Tim Ross announced plans Tuesday to change jobs within the Durham Public Schools, a spokeswoman said.
Ross leaves his position as head coach of the Riverside boys basketball team to teach physical education and serve as athletic director at the new Lucas Middle School. He has a daughter who will be a student at Lucas in the 2012-13 school year.
Brian Strickland, who played for Ross from 1996-2000 and served as his assistant for the past seven years, will step into the head coaching role.
