Panther Creek High School basketball coach Mark Adams resigned Wednesday after two year at the position.
Adams joined Panther Creek on June 2, 2010, from Sebastian, Fla., where he coached Sebastian River High School for five seasons. Adams went 23-24 in two years at Panther Creek after guiding Sebastian River to three consecutive district championships in Florida.
"Mark is a quality basketball coach, we appreciate his service the past two years,” said Panther Creek athletic director Todd Schuler. “We wish Mark and his family well in the future. The job will be posted immediately so we can begin the process of finding a new coach to carry our men's basketball program forward."
The next head coach will mark the fourth head coach in Panther Creek’s history following Adams, Travis Chapman and L.S. Hepp. Hepp, who served as the school’s first head basketball coach, will take over as the new AD at Panther Creek on July 1.
Adams started his coaching career as a graduate assistant under Jim Boeheim at Syracuse University in 1992. In 1996, Adams began his head coaching career at St. Timothy's-Hale High School in Raleigh. He later coached five seasons at Fort Pierce Central High School in Florida before moving to Sebastian River.
