Green Hope's Ryan Thompson signed his national letter of intent to play soccer at Duke Monday.
Thompson started at left midfield and played in every game for Green Hope this past season. As a junior he is graduating a year early to take the scholarship at Duke.
"Ryan is a super talented left-footed player who plays with passion, determination and is blessed with amazingly quick feet. Along with his intelligence both on and off the field, Ryan has excellent vision, is creative and has a long thrown-in," Green Hope head coach Andrew Chadwick said.
After tearing his ACL during the first game of his sophomore season, Thompson's junior year was his only full year to participate at Green Hope.
Thompson will join former Green Hope player Chase Keesling (class of 2011) on the soccer team at Duke.
