Apex High School and Panther Creek High School are joining together to put on the Coach Daniels Inaugural Memorial Scholarship 5K on April 28, which is open to all interested participants. All proceeds from this race will go to the Coach Daniels Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The race will begin at 9 a.m. at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, NC.
An event t-shirt is included with a $25 registration fee. Additional t-shirts will be available at the event for $10.
Gene Daniels, known by many in the Apex and Panther Creek communities as “Coach D”, had a passion for teaching and coaching in the Wake County Public School System for 24 years. He will be most remembered for his tireless energy, unbelievable work ethic, his servant’s heart and for how much he loved his family. His positive influence on students, athletes, parents, colleagues, and friends will live on in their hearts as the years go by. As he always said to his team, “We are more than a team. We are a family."
The Daniel's Cup will be awarded each year to the high school with the greatest number of event participants. Please note your affiliation to either Apex High School or Panther Creek High School when registering.
Awards will also be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall male and female finishers.
Click here to register ($2.75 service fee will be added). Please register by Wednesday, April 16 to be guaranteed your preferred size shirt on race day. Everyone will get the size shirt they want ...register by the 16th to guarantee it on race day. If you don't register by the 18th, you may have to wait for the second shirt printing and pickup at Apex High once done.
