The coaching carousel in the Tri-Nine Conference continues.
Panther Creek announced on Wednesday that Sean Crocker will leave Middle Creek to become the Catamounts' third head football coach. A press conference is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Panther Creek High School.
Crocker succeeds Wayne Bragg who left Panther Creek last month to become the athletic director at Green Hope.
For the past seven seasons, Crocker has been on the sidelines at Middle Creek. He has been the head coach for the last five season. Under Crocker, Middle Creek posted a 43-23 record, including a 10-4 mark last season.
In 2009, Middle Creek won a school record 12 games, advancing to the third round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-A state playoffs where it fell to eventual state runner-up Harnett Central.
Crocker, from Wakefield, Va., played college football at the University of the North Carolina. He has also served as an assistant coach at Cary and Chapel Hill.
Panther Creek posted an 8-4 record last season, one year after going 13-2 and advancing to the NCHSAA 4-AA Eastern Regional Final.
