Holly Springs names Will Orbin new head football coach

Will Orbin comes to Holly Springs High School from Leesville Road High School where he was the  Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach in 2011. He has 18 years of coaching experience, including tenure as a high school head football coach, offensive coordinator and as a coach in two Division I FCS
college football programs.

In 2011, he helped lead Leesville to a record of 12-1, with the first undefeated regular season in school history and a Cap 8 conference championship. LRHS led the area for average points scored per game (51.5), total offense (485.7 yards per game), and total rushing (373.4 yards per game), and set multiple school offensive records including all time record for points scored in one season (670).

Orbin came to LRHS from Griffin (GA) High School where he helped Griffin amass a record of 23-3 over the 2009 and 2010 seasons. They set the all-time school scoring record in 2009 scoring 498 points in 14 games. Over a four-year span as the OC at Griffin (2005-2006 and 2009-2010) they amassed 46-6 overall record and 38-2 regular season record, winning two region championships, one sub-region championship and making two final four appearances. Griffin finished with an Associated Press Ranking of 2nd in 2009 and 3rd in 2005 for the State of Georgia Classification AAAA. Over that 4-year period, Orbin-led offenses averaged 420 points per year and 32.3 points per game.

Orbin served as head football coach for one year (2004) at East Rowan High School and was honored as the North Piedmont 3A Conference Coach of the Year and Rowan County Coach of the Year. In the 1990s he was the Offensive Coordinator at Southeast Raleigh High School and the Offensive Coordinator at Broughton High School.

Orbin’s collegiate and high school coaching experience also includes stops at Elon University (NC), Indiana State University (IN), and Campbell High School (GA).

Orbin also is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Just Cause. He earned his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and holds a post-baccalaureate certification from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Brandi, have twins Benjamin and Regan (7).

Orbin would have been even better at Wakefield HS to replace Dinwiddie. With the players returning for the Wolverines, his style offense would have been a great fit!

Disappointed....We wanted Anthony Sullivan.Going to Middle Creek to have my son's play.Great job again by the AD.Enough is enough

Good luck to coach Orbin...did a great job at Leesville - he had a lot to work with but I was particularly impressed with the O line play...
