Millbrook's "twin towers," Bria and Briana Day, made verbal commitments on Thursday, according to their AAU coach, Ty Cox.
The Day sisters will play college basketball at North Carolina for coach Sylvia Hatchell, Cox said.
Bria and Briana made unofficial visits to Chapel Hill on Thursday where they made their verbal commitments. Both stand at 6-foot-4 and are sophomores. They are expected to enroll at North Carolina in the fall of 2013.
Last season, Millbrook's girls basketball team won the GlaxoSmithKline Holiday Invitational, the Cap 8 regular season and tournament championships, and represented the east in the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 4-A state championship game.
Millbrook coach Chris East could not be reached Thursday evening for comment.
Briana was named the Eastern Regional Most Valuable Player in the NCHSAA playoffs. She also earned all-conference honors, averaging 12 points per game last season.
