The boys basketball brackets for the 2010 GlaxoSmithKline Holiday Invitational have been completed and may be released as early as Wednesday, tournament director Bill Sewell said.
Sewell said if the brackets aren't released Wednesday, they would be released on Thursday.
Brackets for the girls tournament were released earlier this year.
Sewell said the tournament has been awaiting sanction by the National Federation of State High School Athletic Associations to release the brackets. The tournament has received approval from the NFHS.
This year's tournament features 16 boys teams from North Carolina and around the country.
Local boys teams in the field this season include Broughton, Cary, Hillside, Knightdale, Middle Creek, Ravenscroft, Riverside and Word of God.
The GlaxoSmithKline Holiday Invitational will be held Dec. 27-30. The boys tournament will be held at Broughton High School's Holliday Gymnasium while the girls will start at Cary Academy before moving to Broughton.
HighSchoolOT.com will publish the brackets as soon as they are available.
