#2 Vad Lee celebrates his fifth touchdown in Durham Hillside High School's 33-8 victory over Greensboro Dudley High School on Friday, Sept. 17.
If your team was in the top five last week, well, they moved.
Each of the first five positions in this week's OT Top 12 is occupied by a new team this week, including the No. 1 spot.
Hillside jumped ahead of Jack Britt in the rankings after dragging one of the state's top teams last week in Dudley. Britt fell to No. 2 after beating Broughton 40-30.
Harnett Central moved up to No. 4 after beating East Wake 50-7. They replaced Wake Forest-Rolesville who dropped to No. 5 after barely beating Northern Durham and losing one of it's best players - Darren Kirby - to an ACL tear.
Panther Creek got a big win over No. 5 Fuquay-Varina last week, and the Catamounts jumped from No. 7 to No. 4 this week. They are in sole possession of the No. 1 spot in the Tri-9 Conference. The Bengals dropped to No. 7.
The only team to drop out of the poll this week was Roanoke Rapids. The Yellow Jackets fell to Tarboro 42-35 last week.
Another group of Yellow Jackets replaced Roanoke Rapids. Lee County makes it's debut in the OT Top 12 poll for the first time ever. The Jackets are ranked No. 12 behind conference foe Cary who comes in at No. 11.
The Tri-9 has five teams in the poll this week, and Athens Drive was one of the other teams considered.
