#26 Desmond Lawrence scored Southern's first touchdown on a long run from scrimmage.
Southern Durham's Desmond Lawrence won an indoor track national championship on Sunday.
Lawrence placed first in the 60 meter event with a time 6.93 seconds, according to Southern Durham coach Adrian Jones.
Jones said Lawrence has signed his National Letter of Intent with East Carolina for track and field. Lawrence, who also plays football for the Spartans, will also walk onto the football team at ECU, Jones said.
Sherman Ragland joined Lawrence in place. Ragland placed fourth in the 60 meter hurdles.
