Two Cap 7 foes met in the 4-A sectional finals on Friday evening, but only one could advance to the east regionals in Greenville.
The home Millbrook boys basketball team defeated Broughton, 56-48.
Millbrook outscored Broughton in the first quarter 14-10 to take an early lead, but Broughton chipped away in the second quarter.
The Wildcats led 25-22 at the break.
Broughton continued to chip away in the third quarter. The Caps outscored Millbrook 16-13 in the third period to tie the game at 38-38 going into the fourth quarter.
Tyrrel Tate and Donzell Hill helped lead the Wildcats to the victory, though.
Millbrook's offense scored 18-points and the defense held Broughton to just ten-points as the Wildcats escaped with an eight-point win.
Tate led all scorers with 21-points. Hill added 13-points for the Wildcats.
Danny Mizerk, who returned from a concussion one week ago, finally got back into his offensive rhythm, scoring nine-points for Millbrook.
J.R. Owens led Broughton in scoring with 17-points. Prince Williams added 12-points for the Cap.
Millbrook will advance to the east regional finals next week in Greenville. It's opponent will be announced later this weekend.
