Middle Creek's season came to an end on it's home court Wednesday night as the Broughton Capitals continue to make a road game run through the state playoffs.
Broughton jumped all over Middle Creek in the opening quarter, outscoring the Mustangs 23-6 on the way to a 69-45 victory.
After falling behind by 17-points early, Middle Creek had a lot of ground to make up.
Broughton outscored Middle Creek again in the second quarter, but the Mustangs managed to hold the Caps to just 13-points.
At the half, Broughton led 36-17.
The third quarter ended all hope of a Mustang comeback.
Broughton scored 19-points in the third quarter, while holding Middle Creek to 14-points as the Caps pushed their lead to 24-points.
Both teams scored 14-points in the fourth quarter.
Broughton's Prince Williams led all scorers with 20-points. J.R. Owens scored 12-points for the Caps.
Middle Creek also had two players in double-figures. Both Quentin Ray and Jon Moore scored 10-points for the Mustangs.
Broughton will now travel to Millbrook to take on it's conference foe in the sectional final. The winner will advance to the regional semifinals next week in Greenville.
