Middle Creek's Jordan Mays conducts an interview at WRAL.

Middle Creek defensive back Jordan Mays has received an offer to play football at the United States Air Force Academy, according to head coach Sean Crocker.

Mays posted 77 tackles and six tackles for loss during his senior season at Middle Creek. He also intercepted two passes, recovered two fumbles and forced another fumble.

In 2008, Mays led the team with five interceptions.

Middle Creek won a school record 12 games this past season on it's way to a conference championship and trip to the N.C. High School Athletic Association's third round of the 4-A state football playoffs.

Crocker said this is Mays' first official offer but that other schools are close to offering him. Others have invited him to walk onto their teams, according to Crocker.
