Wake Forest-Rolesville senior Brandon Reynolds was taken off the field Friday night during the game against Leesville Road.
While playing defense for Wake Forest-Rolesville, Brandon Reynolds was injured in the fourth quarter of Friday night's game against Leesville Road.
Reynolds took a hit from a Leesville Road player and went down on the field. Athletic trainers for both schools went to his aid. Emergency crews on scene also came onto the field.
The senior defensive lineman was put onto a backboard and transported to the hospital. However, head coach Reggie Lucas said after the game that he expects Reynolds to be fine.
"From my understanding, it is a concussion. He took a head shot," Lucas said. "I doubt he'll play next week... He had a real big headache, but he remembered everything, so that's a good sign."
The Cougars defeated Leesville Road on Friday 20-3 to finish the regular season a perfect 11-0. Wake Forest-Rolesville has clinched the overall No. 1 seed in the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 4-AA Eastern Region.
