Holly Springs running back J.J. Graves is known for his ability to run over defenses on the football field, but this week Graves has an opportunity to win an all-star award for something he doesn't do on or off the field.
The North Carolina Spit Tobacco Education Program puts on the "No Spit All-Star" contest for North Carolina high school football players. Each candidate must sign a contract pledging not to smoke or use smokeless tobacco on or off the field.
Graves is nominated this week to win the weekly award. He had 104 yards of total offense last week against Green Hope, scoring four touchdowns for the Golden Hawks.
Voting will end on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 8:00 p.m.
If Graves is selected this week, he will be eligible for the All-Star of the Year award. Voting for that award begins on Nov. 9!
Good luck to J.J. from HighSchoolOT.com!
