Throughout June and July we've been polling you to see who you think will win each of the area conferences, and today we're going to compare your conference champions to mine - or at least our predictions.

I'll be honest, there's not much different...

CAP 7

Your Pick — Leesville Road
Nick's Pick — Leesville Road

CAROLINA 6

Your Pick — J.F. Webb
Nick's Pick — Chapel Hill

CAROLINA 9

Your Pick — Northwood
Nick's Pick — Northwood

GREATER NEUSE RIVER

Your Pick — Southeast Raleigh
Nick's Pick — Southeast Raleigh

PAC 6

Your Pick — Southern Durham
Nick's Pick — Southern Durham

TRI-9

Your Pick — Fuquay-Varina
Nick's Pick — Fuquay-Varina, Middle Creek, Panther Creek (3-way tie)

I'll be releasing my entire predicted conference standings in (very) early August, so stay tuned.

loedown, I'll say that Millbrook didnt stop Enloe in the first half but in the second half there was no running game. We'll just have to wait and see what happens this year with that offense.

And footballer Millbrook didnt stop Enloe last year Aziel Faison ran all over them and that was the only game Matt Jurek threw over 100 yards in. Leesville and WFR r the only 2 teams that have consistently stopped the Eagles

I saw a few Enloe workouts in recent weeks and they are working like crazy to bring a passing attack to their offense. Taurean Lynch is a name that should be heard alot this year. 6'2 190 lb 4.6 40 DE that is getting alot of college attention and they plan on speading him out and letting him go get it as they did 2 years ago with Paul Constantine when Matt Jurek threw for over 800 yards and their offense was very lethal.

Coach Clark said they're going to mix up the offense a little bit this year. He said we should expect more passing. We'll see in a few weeks what they look like when scrimmages begin.

There is something about Enloe and their offense that gives me the feeling they will never be a top team in the Cap-7. On JV it works, but when you are going against teams and coaches that have faced it multiple times, they know how to stop it. It is no secret and since they have no variety in their O that is why I feel they will still be around the bottom. Sure they are returning starters, but again once you stop that O(which WFR, Millbrook, and Leesville did quite easily last year) they are not tough. In my opinion they will be around 5 or 6 this year in the conference. I think Leesville and WFR will be at the top with Millbrook and Wakefield battling for the 3rd and 4th spot.

The next best I would go with WFR in the Cap 7 until somebody shows they can beat them, Webb, South Granville, West Johnston/Harnett Central. PAC 6 I don't know... Probably Jordan, but I could see Northern or Hillside there, and I hear Person may do some good things this year.

About Enloe... I think they've got the opportunity to be good, but until the two powerhouse teams in the Cap 7 - Leesville and WFR - show they are going to be vulnerable, I don't feel comfortable putting Enloe up there. I did talk to coach Ron Clark the other day briefly, and he agreed, but said they're expecting a big step in the right direction this year. Personally, I think Enloe took a step in the right direction last year.

The big question in the Carolina 9 is will anybody other than S.Granville a meaningful touchdown against Northwood? Or maybe more than 14 points?

If these are your picks Nick, who is the "next best"? I've got Enloe, Webb, S. Granville, Garner/Harnett Central, Hillside and (since you have a 3-way tie) Apex.
