RALEIGH — Southeast Raleigh quarterback Gabe Henderson may end his college recruiting process on July 11, along with teammate Kendall Moore.

“Kendall keeps bugging me about,” Henderson said on Thursday morning. “I just want to get [the recruiting process] out of the way so I can focus on football this fall.”

Right now, Henderson has offers Buffalo, Kent State, Liberty and Western Carolina, but he is waiting on potential offers from N.C. State and Georgia Tech.

Henderson went to the N.C. State prospect camp on June 20, and said he had a good showing.

“[N.C. State head coach Tom] O’Brien called the school the day before and told them to make sure I was there on Saturday,” Henderson said. “It went pretty good. There was a lot of talent out there.”

Henderson said he got to talk one-on-one with O’Brien, and that the coach told him he “looked great.”

The Wednesday prior to attending the N.C. State camp, Henderson traveled to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech camp. Henderson believes an offer could be on the way from the Yellow Jackets as well.

“I’ve got a more personal relationship with Georgia Tech, but I talk to N.C. State all the time,” he said.

Even if the offers don’t come by July 11, Henderson said he may make his decision.

“There’s a very good chance that I’ll be up there with Kendall,” Henderson said, but acknowledged that if an offer from one of the ACC schools came later he may be open to it.

Henderson is not necessarily looking to stay in-state. The 6-foot-1, 181-pound quarterback said location is not a big factor, as long as he stays on the east coast. The biggest factors for Henderson is whether or not the school has his major, and the level of play at the school.

Henderson wants to go into broadcasting.

Rivals.com and Scout.com rank Henderson a three star quarterback, and Scout.com lists him as the 95th best quarterback in the Class of 2010.

Last season, Henderson broke the school passing record with 2,332 yards. He also threw for 29 touchdowns and rushed for over 650 yards and 11 scores.

Henderson has played varsity football at Southeast Raleigh since his sophomore season and said he expects big things his senior season.

“Since I’ve been [at Southeast Raleigh], this is the most talented team we’ve ever had,” he said.
