Chapel Hill huddles during their game against Hillside.
CHAPEL HILL — Offensive tackle Rob Crisp and safety/corner back Pete Singer both committed to N.C. State on Tuesday, making them the third and fourth commitments for the Wolfpack in the Class of 2010.
The 6-foot-8, 290-pound Crisp is a four-star prospect, according to Scout.com, and he ranks the No. 5 offensive tackle in his class.
In January, Crisp was selected to the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He was one of ten early selections to the all-star game.
Crisp was also considering offers from Clemson, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina and South Carolina, among others. He attended the N.C. State Junior Day in February.
Singer, who stands at 5-feet-11 and 175-pounds, runs a 4.5 second forty-yard dash. He was also receiving interest from Duke, Georgia and South Carolina.
The two players wanted to attend college together, and their families were already Wolfpack fans. Four siblings of Singer already attended N.C. State.
Both players made their commitments after attending a practice at N.C. State.
Head coach Tom O'Brien also has two verbal commitments from junior college players in Milledgeville, Ga. Three-star safety Roy Mangram and three-star running back Tobais Palmer will both attend N.C. State.
