RALEIGH — Ravenscroft senior football player Trevor Taylor has announced his commitment to play football for Army. He will first spend a year at the U.S. Military Preparatory School before matriculating at West Point.
Taylor, a 5-10, 185 lb. running back, was the 2008 Big East Conference Player of the year, a 2008 NCISAA All-State selection, and a two-time Big East All-Conference pick. He was also chosen for the 2008 Oasis All-Star Shrine Classic. As a senior, Taylor was Ravenscroft’s team MVP and led the team in rushing touchdowns (13) and yards (1,163). He was also second on the team in receiving touchdowns (4) and yards (302) and threw for two touchdowns. Taylor was a four-year member of the Varsity team and a three-year letterwinner for the Ravens.
Taylor is the sixth Ravenscroft senior to commit this spring, joining Devin Combs (Campbell), Phillip Fajgenbaum (Clemson); Lanny Funsten (Davidson); Cole Gonet (Richmond); and Hayden Maples (Navy).
