One of the state's top running backs from the Class of 2012 will announce his college intentions in January.
Tarboro High School running back Todd Gurley told HighSchoolOT.com on Tuesday that he will announce his college commitment during the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl on Jan. 3.
Gurley said his final list will include Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, NC State, North Carolina and Virginia Tech, but the Bulldogs and the Tar Heels are his top two teams.
The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, which is expected to include 100 of the best senior football players in the country, will be played in Phoenix, Ariz. It will be shown at 6 p.m., on the CBS College Sports Network.
Tarboro is 5-1 on the season and tied with Kinston at the top of the Eastern Plains 2-A Conference.
