Tarboro RB Gurley sets announcement date

Postgame Interview: Todd Gurley

One of the state's top running backs from the Class of 2012 will announce his college intentions in January.

Tarboro High School running back Todd Gurley told HighSchoolOT.com on Tuesday that he will announce his college commitment during the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl on Jan. 3.

Gurley said his final list will include Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, NC State, North Carolina and Virginia Tech, but the Bulldogs and the Tar Heels are his top two teams.

The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, which is expected to include 100 of the best senior football players in the country, will be played in Phoenix, Ariz. It will be shown at 6 p.m., on the CBS College Sports Network.

Tarboro is 5-1 on the season and tied with Kinston at the top of the Eastern Plains 2-A Conference.

All Toby needs to do is come close to winning 1 game that he's not supposed to and he'll be around for another miserable year.

If he was waiting to see what the NCAA is going to do to UNC, he would need only to wait until late October.

If TOB gets a nod of approval from Debbie Yow, he will know that in January. He'll also know more about Georgia's coach at that time.

But I concede, it's probably either Georgia or UNC.

Nice try TBK...........I think in reality we can all agree that he's waiting to see what the NCAA is going to do to UNC, like most other top recruit's and maybe even waitng to see what happens to Georgias coach! Don't think TOB has a chance.....

I don't blame him for waiting until January. He probably wants to make sure TOB will be here next year before committing to State. :)
