Boys Basketball: 2A State Championship Kinston vs North Rowan (M

Kinston High School forward Brandon Ingram has narrowed his list of schools to six.

According to a tweet from Ingram on Sunday, his final list of schools includes Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, NC State, North Carolina and UCLA.

Ingram, a member of the Class of 2015, is a five-star prospect, according to ESPN.com. The recruiting website ranks him as the top player from his class in the state of North Carolina and the No. 12 player nationally.

As a player at Kinston, Ingram has contributed to three consecutive state championships. This past season, Ingram was named Most Valuable Player

Southern Durham's Brown offered by UNC

Southern Durham's Jordon Brown has picked up an offer from North Carolina.

According to his high school coach, Darius Robinson, Brown received an offer from the Tar Heels on Saturday morning, the day after the Spartans defeated cross-town rival Hillside in front of a packed crowd at N.C. Central University.

At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Brown can play multiple positions, including running back and wide receiver. UNC has offered Brown as a running back, Robinson said.

A member of the Class of 2016, Brown also has offers from Boston College, East Carolina, NC State and West Virginia.

Southern Durham is the defending 3-AA state champion. So far this season the Spartans have compiled a 2-0 record with a 41-0 win over Capitol Christian (MD) and a 16-13 win over Hillside.

Brown caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the state championship game last season.

Princeton's Johnny Frasier commits to Florida State

Princeton High School running back Johnny Frasier made his verbal commitment on Monday.

According to Princeton football coach Derrick Minor, Frasier announced to the team on Monday afternoon that he would be playing college football at Florida State University.

Frasier, who stands at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, is the No. 1 running back in the Class of 2015, according to 247Sports.com.

Last season, Frasier carried the ball 248 times for 3,042 yards and 45 touchdowns. He also caught 25 passes for 555 yards and five touchdowns. Frasier's performance earned him all-conference, all-area and all-state honors.

NCPreps.com named Frasier the 1-A Player of the Year in 2013.

Princeton compiled a 9-4 overall record last season, finishing 5-1 in the Carolina 1-A Conference. The Bulldogs were ousted from the state playoffs by eventual state champion James Kenan in the second round, 43-36.

Sanderson's Gibson commits to VCU

Sanderson High School's Bria Gibson will continue her basketball career in college at Virginia Commonwealth University.

According to Sanderson Athletic Director Tony Lewis, Gibson gave her verbal commitment to VCU, ending her recruiting process.

A 6-foot-1 forward, Gibson is a member of the Class of 2015. As a junior last season, Gibson averaged 19 points per game for the Spartans.

During her sophomore season, Gibson averaged just over 18 points per game, earning Player of the Year honors in the Cap 8 4-A Conference. 

Sanderson posted a 9-15 overall record last season, including a 7-7 mark in the league.

Millbrook sophomore Crutchfield commits to NC State

Millbrook High School point guard Kai Crutchfield verbally committed to North Carolina State University on Tuesday.

Crutchfield, a member of Millbrook's Class of 2017, stands at 5-foot-9. Millbrook coach Chris East confirmed the news of her commitment.

"She sat down with her mom and dad and talked about all the schools. Every time they talked about it, NC State kept coming out on top," East said. "I talked to Kai and she said she felt very comfortable ... She said she felt at home."

Last season, Crutchfield started for the Wildcats as a freshman, helping the team to a 24-4 overall record, including a share of the Cap 8 4-A Conference title.

"Kai has great court vision and is a very impressive player. She does a little bit of everything for us," said East. "She's one of our top scorers, she gets rebounds, she takes tough defensive assignments. I think it is a tremendous honor to get to coach her for four years."
