Southern Durham's Jordon Brown has picked up an offer from North Carolina.

According to his high school coach, Darius Robinson, Brown received an offer from the Tar Heels on Saturday morning, the day after the Spartans defeated cross-town rival Hillside in front of a packed crowd at N.C. Central University.

At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Brown can play multiple positions, including running back and wide receiver. UNC has offered Brown as a running back, Robinson said.

A member of the Class of 2016, Brown also has offers from Boston College, East Carolina, NC State and West Virginia.

Southern Durham is the defending 3-AA state champion. So far this season the Spartans have compiled a 2-0 record with a 41-0 win over Capitol Christian (MD) and a 16-13 win over Hillside.

Brown caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the state championship game last season.

Millbrook High School point guard Kai Crutchfield verbally committed to North Carolina State University on Tuesday.

Crutchfield, a member of Millbrook's Class of 2017, stands at 5-foot-9. Millbrook coach Chris East confirmed the news of her commitment.

"She sat down with her mom and dad and talked about all the schools. Every time they talked about it, NC State kept coming out on top," East said. "I talked to Kai and she said she felt very comfortable ... She said she felt at home."

Last season, Crutchfield started for the Wildcats as a freshman, helping the team to a 24-4 overall record, including a share of the Cap 8 4-A Conference title.

"Kai has great court vision and is a very impressive player. She does a little bit of everything for us," said East. "She's one of our top scorers, she gets rebounds, she takes tough defensive assignments. I think it is a tremendous honor to get to coach her for four years."
