Tyler Phillips will play college football in California next season.
The 6-foot-6, 340-pound offensive lineman from Millbrook High School signed his letter of intent to play football at College of the Canyons in Valencia, Cali.
Millbrook football coach Clarence Inscore confirmed Phillips' decision this week.
Last season, Millbrook posted a 6-6 overall record, including a 3-4 mark in the Cap 8 4-A Conference. The Wildcats fell to Wake Forest-Rolesville in the opening round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-AA state playoffs.

Broughton defensive lineman Jeffrey Robinson has made his college decision.
Robinson, a member of Broughton's Class of 2012, committed to Elizabeth City State, Broughton football coach Chris Martin said.
Last season, Broughton posted a 5-6 overall record, including a 4-3 record in the Cap 8 4-A Conference. The Caps fell to Leesville Road in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-AA state playoffs.

Broughton High School's Hayden Pezzoni has committed to UNC-Charlotte.
Chris Martin, head football coach at Broughton, said Pezzoni committed to the 49ers as a kicker.
Pezzoni stands at 5-foot-10 and 155-pounds, according to Rivals.com. He also handled punting responsibilities for the Capitals.
Pezzoni belongs to the inaugural football recruiting class for Charlotte.

Hillside tight end Josh McNeil has picked up another offer.
According to Hillside coach Antonio King, McNeil received an offer from Vanderbilt on Thursday morning.
At 6-foot-5 and 235-pounds, McNeil runs a 4.69 second 40-yard dash.
East Carolina was the first school to offer McNeil and he committed to the Pirates in November.
Hillside put together an 11-2 campaign last season, including a perfect 6-0 mark in the PAC 6 4-A Conference.
McNeil earned all-conference honors and was named to the HighSchoolOT.com All-OT Team.

North Carolina is the first offer on the table for one of the top wide receivers in the area from the Class of 2013.
Bunn wide receiver Johnathan Alston picked up the offer from the Tar Heels on Feb. 1, according to his high school coach Chris Miller.
"This is his first offer, but he has received interest from Notre Dame as well," Miller said.
According to MaxPreps.com, Alston recorded nearly 400 receiving yards last season on 17 catches, scoring four times. He also ran the ball four times for 41 yards and three touchdowns.
At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Alston also played defensive end for Bunn last season. On defense, Alston recorded 51 tackles and two sacks.
Bunn posted a 9-4 overall record for the 2011 season. Alston earned all-conference honors this past season in the Northern Carolina 2-A Conference.
