Cleveland, Southeast Raleigh move into Fabulous 15 Poll

Wake Forest remains the top-ranked team in Tom Suiter's Fabulous 15 Poll after the first week of the season.

The Cougars, who represented the east in the 4-AA state championship last season and return a number of key players on both sides of the ball, defeated Panther Creek on Friday 23-6.

Another Cap 8 team is in second place. The Millbrook Wildcats are coming off a 34-14 win over Fuquay-Varina and held steady in the second spot behind the Cougars.

Middle Creek, who defeated Garner, and Southern Durham, who defeated Capitol Christian Academy (MD), remain third and fourth, respectively.

The first change in the poll came in the fifth place spot where Pinecrest moved in from its seventh place preseason ranking. Pinecrest defeated Overhills in the opening week, 23-12.

Garner, which was ranked fifth in the preseason poll, slipped one spot to sixth after falling to Middle Creek.

Southeast Raleigh, which was unranked in the preseason poll, defeated Jack Britt last week, 18-13. The Buccaneers were ranked No. 8 in the preseason poll and fell out of the poll completely this week. Southeast Raleigh moved in at No. 12.

Cleveland also moved into the poll after defeating Clayton, 56-53. The Rams are now No. 14.

Hunt fell out of the poll after being ranked 14th in the preseason poll. Hunt lost to South Central last week, 20-17.
