Cleveland High School's Sterling Johnson put an end to his commitment early.
Johnson announced on Twitter on Tuesday evening that he has verbally committed to Clemson University.
A member of the Class of 2015, Johnson has one more season of high school football left to play. As a junior last fall, Johnson posted 78 tackles, including 44 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks. He also forced four fumbles and recovered one fumble.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, Johnson earned all-conference honors in the Two-Rivers 3-A Conference.
Johnson chose Clemson over Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, N.C. State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and West Virginia, among others.
