Clayton jumps into top 10, Heritage to No. 2 in HighSchoolOT poll

— After defeating Garner in the season opener on Friday night, Clayton has moved up in the HighSchoolOT.com Top 20 Poll.

The Comets, who were ranked No. 19 going into the first week of the season, are now ranked No. 10 after a 35-14 win over Garner. The Trojans were ranked No. 3 at the time and have fallen all the way to No. 15 where they are tied with Lee County.

Heritage moved up to No. 2 in the poll after a shutout win over unranked Panther Creek. Scotland County was ranked No. 2, but dropped one spot to No. 3 after a 28-21 loss to Mallard Creek on Thursday night.

Wake Forest remains the No. 1 team in the poll. Richmond County and Cape Fear round out the top five.
