Clark posts quadruple-double in Clayton win

Clayton High School's boys basketball team cruised to a 67-46 win over cross-county rival West Johnston High School on Friday night, and the Comets received an impressive performance from Gary Clark.

Clark posted 22 points, 21 rebounds, 15 blocked shots and 10 assists to claim a quadruple-double in the Greater Neuse River 4-A Conference win.

A member of the Class of 2014, Clark has committed to play college basketball at Cincinnati. He is listed at 6-foot-7 and 215 pounds, and is considered a four-star player by ESPN.

ESPN also rates him as the fifth best player in North Carolina from his class.

Clayton also got 17 points from Tre Armstead and 10 points from Austin Wolf in the win.

The Comets are on top of the Greater Neuse River standings with a perfect 6-0 league record. Clayton has an overall record of 13-3. 

Next for the Comets is a home game against Southeast Raleigh on Jan. 17.
