Cedar Ridge pole vaulter signing with UNC

A pole vaulter at Cedar Ridge High School will sign with North Carolina today.

Ethan Smith will sign with the UNC track & field team on Wednesday, Cedar Ridge announced.

Smith is ranked No. 4 in the nation in the pole vault.

Last spring, Smith won the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2-A state championship in the pole vault, setting a new record of 15 feet, 3 inches.
