— Longtime rivals Cary and Apex met in boys soccer on Monday night and the game was what any rivalry game should be.

After the Cougars took a 2-0 lead in the first half, Cary came back to tie the game, ending with a 2-2 score.

Cary trailed 2-0 at halftime when Daniel Rodriguez and Bilal Nachet scored two goals to tie the game. Non-conference games do not go to overtime, so the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

The Imps are now 5-3-1 overall and will travel to Apex Friendship on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff as non-conference play continues.

Apex moves to 2-3-1 after the tie and will rerun to play on Wednesday with a home game against Panther Creek. That game will begin at 6 p.m.
