— Northside stayed undefeated Friday night in the Class 2-AA NCHSAA football playoffs with a 28-10 victory over Bunn.

In the first quarter, Northside's Dwayne Johnson used his power to drag tacklers across midfield for the 26-yard pickup, all the way to the Bunn 19-yard line.

From a yard out, Johnson finished the drive and gave the Monarchs the 7-0 lead.

Later in the first, Bunn QB Dillon Autry saw his pass tipped, intercepted and returned into the red zone. It took Northside four plays to capitalize, but they did. It was Johnson again, from two yards out, for the touchdown and the 13-0 lead.

Northside kicked off the Johnathan Alston, who cradled it at the Bunn eight and kept it for 92 yards. His run put the Wildcats within six, 13-7.

In the second quarter, after a Bunn field goal, Autry fired another pick, this one to Josh Cabrera who returned it for 35 yards and the score.

Northside led 21-10 at the half.
