Leesville Road stormed back from a huge deficit, but Broughton held on for a 61-53 win over the Pride.
Broughton jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the first quarter, but Leesville Road found its footing in the second quarter to stop the bleeding. The Pride outscored Broughton 12-11 going into halftime and trailed 27-14 at the break.
In the third quarter, both teams caught fire offensively. Leesville Road scored 20 points while Broughton scored 19, setting up a big fourth quarter.
Leesville Road, which trailed by 20 points at one time, came back as close as four points in the fourth quarter, outscoring Broughton 19-15.
A 19-point performance by Devonte Graham, an Appalachian State recruit, was enough to hold off the Pride though.
Graham was the only player for the Caps to score in double-figures. James Hemphill, a Navy recruit, and Chase Johnston both scored nine points each.
Leesville Road was led by Reggie Jones' 17 points. Point guard Lamont Martin-White added 14, while Brandon Staves scored nine.
