Broughton's girls basketball team got back into the win column on Wednesday with a 60-53 win over Sanderson.
The Capitals had a narrow lead after the first quarter, up just one point over Sanderson, but extended the lead to eight points going into halftime.
After an even third quarter, Sanderson started fighting back in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 points, but Broughton was able to hold on for the win.
Nadine Ealey led Broughton in scoring with 13 points. Justice Byrd added 11 for the Capitals.
Sanderson was led by Bria Gibson's game-high 34-point performance. Derricka Lewis had 13 points for the Spartans, but only two other Sanderson players scored in the game.
Broughton will host undefeated and top-ranked Millbrook on Friday night, while Sanderson will travel to Wakefield.
