Broughton advances to 4-A state title game

Broughton's boys basketball team is headed to Chapel Hill next weekend for the biggest game of the season – the 4-A state championship.
After trailing by as many as 10 points, Broughton fought back in the second half to defeat Seventy-First, 67-59.
The comeback was sparked by three Devonte Graham steals in the third quarter that resulted in a 7-2 run by Broughton.
Graham, who was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, finished with seven steals and 21 points, including a 14-of-15 mark from the free throw line.
For the game Broughton was 38-of-47 from the free throw line.
James Hemphill added 16 points for the Capitals while Cameron Gottfried had 13. Hemphill was named a member of the all-tournament team.
Sidney Knox led Seventy-First in scoring with 16 points. Quincy Swait had 14 and Marcus Williams added 10. Knox and Swait were both named all-tournament team members.
