Isn't it Baseball Season?

Curious why, in the last week of regular season play for High School Baseball...WRAL has little to no coverage on High School baseball? There are a lot of news worthy games going on in GRNC, Tri 9 as the teams are battling for top spots in their conferences.........

I was wondering the same thing.....lot of great HS baseball played in NC, playoffs start in 16 days

Very good question.. in my opinion,,,baseball is a dying sport, by the time kids make it to high school ( and really prior from Dads who don't know any better), coaches are giving the BS line of you have to concentrate on 1 sport to be successful to make it to the next level. So what does a kid do? They make a decision. I think alot of kids are burned out of baseball due to starting too early and playing too much travel ball. lets come to reality, baseball is not the most exciting sport in the world..What would your rather play,,,,under the Friday Night lights or in front of Mommy and Daddy on the Diamond. Pretty easy decision. I have attended numerous Cap 8 baseball games this year and pretty much what you see are kids who made the decision to play baseball, and only baseball. Well the truth of it really is,,they can't play any other sport...reason not athletic enough.

Class Act Wuffpak66.....Just a simple question about HS baseball coverage and you turn it into trashing the players and the sport.

Wuffpak66 is one of these kids that cant play baseball so hes got to cut down the sport he cant play.Baseball is the Hardest and most skilled sport to play.

How did this turn in to a bashing baseball player forum. I am against specialization in HS athletics, but there are plenty of kids playing baseball on Triangle teams that play multiple sports.Others simply choose not to. Back to the original post, it's be great to see more coverage of the area HS baseball season.HSOT still does a better job than anyone else around.

I agree there is no baseball coverage, it's always football which isn't anywhere close to starting. Heck my thing is why is there never in any softball talk with all the great talent around? Is this only a site to talk about boys sports?

I think highschoolot is in demand to start covering other sports because of the popularity of the site with football, highschoolot does a great job in its coverage and im sure over time the expansion of highschoolot will give it more oppurtunity and resources to cover all sports

D. Clay Best and Mike Blake do a great job of covering local prep baseball. Best covers the GNC and Blake covers the Tri9. Those guys care about prep baseball. HighschoolOT is a great website for football and basketball but they must hibernate during the spring and summer. The Cary News and SWwake Sports really do well. Baseball in this area is too dang good to get the cold shoulder.
