GNRC So far
So what does everyone think about the conference so far? Hard to tell since I don't see records/results getting posted. I was at the Knightdale/East Wake game and that was a good one! Any suprises so far this season? What do the standings look like after the first week and a half?
RE: GNRC So far
SSS has suprised a bunch of people, they have posted a 5-1 record so far i think. Knightdale got a lot preseason hype but have a 2-4 record right now
RE: GNRC So far
SSS lost to Garner last night 3-1
RE: GNRC So far
I still think pitching and defense wins baseball games. Knightdale is giving up 2.3 runs a game (only scoring 2.1), this will carry them as long as the bats get a little warm. They are hitting .210, that won't last.
We have played against Clayton and WJ and they both seemed solid, but Clayton is stronger. HC is rebuilding and we still have to play EW, SSS, Garner and Knightdale.

I've seen Clayton and Garner. Very impressed with Garner. Clayton can beat most with Phillips on the mound.
RE: GNRC So far
Saw garner and west tonight. Although West kicked it around a bit, I was impressed with garner.

Updates? Overall conference records?
RE: GNRC So far
Congratulations to Daniel Batts, Knightdale's Senior LHP, on his no-hitter against rival East Wake last night (4/17/2012). Knightdale won 2 to 1 in 8 innings.
RE: GNRC So far
Where is Batts heading next year?
RE: GNRC So far Cap 8
Well, All I can say is that the Cap 8 is extremely weak this year.. I think Leesville is winning the conference at this point and the team Batting avg is like 250. Obviously the switching of bats this year has shown how good or not so good a hitter you really are..
RE: GNRC So far
Talk about topsy turvey.....harnett central 4 Clayton 2, east wake 3 garner 2
