Area players shine at senior combine

Jack Britt High School played host to the Big Show Combine for seniors this past weekend, and several seniors had very good showings.
South Johnston defensive back and running back Quentin Williams was named the Overall MVP of the combine. The 5-foot-7, 165-pound Williams recorded a 4.68 second 40-yard dash, a 4.68 second pro agility, and a 39.5 inch vertical.
Kendall Lindsey, a wide receiver at Westover, was named the Offensive MVP. At 6-foot-2 and 155-pounds, Lindsey ran the 40-yard dash in 4.71 seconds, the pro agility drill in 4.43 seconds, and posted a 32.5 inch vertical.
The Defensive MVP went to Keon Young of Jack Britt. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound defensive back ran the 40-yard dash in 4.81 seconds, the pro agility drill in 4.3 seconds and recorded a 31 inch vertical.
Semaj Street of Westover took home the Fastest Man award, running the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds and the pro agility drill in 4.28 seconds. Street plays defensive back and wide receiver.
Tevin Stewart of South Johnston, a defensive lineman, earned the Strongman award. Stewart benched 185-pounds 33 times at the combine.
Over 75 players from around the area took part in the combine.
