Apex High School rising junior Ian Boyd has received another football offer, this time from an Atlantic Coast Conference school.
Virginia Tech offered Boyd on Friday, according to the Apex coaching staff.
Boyd stands at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. He plays wide receiver for the Cougars' football team, but was also a big part of the basketball team's 4-A state championship in March. In the state championship game, Boyd scored 25 points and was named the Most Valuable Player.
The first offer for Boyd came last month from East Carolina.
Boyd has played varsity football and basketball since his freshman year. He spent time as a freshman as the team's quarterback, but played mostly running back and wide receiver last season.
Apex posted a 2-9 overall record in 2013, failing to qualify for the N.C. High School Athletic Association state playoffs.
